You must be busy planning preparing for Christmas and with 2018 coming to an end, you must be wondering how to celebrate the New Year Eve? We all are busy making plans for the New Year’s eve and 1st Jan’2019! For some of us it would be spending time with friends and family and others will be somewhere exotic celebrating their New Year. However, if you have not yet decided where to go for New Year need some epic suggestion, then here is the list of the world’s best places to celebrate New Year’s.
The Big Ben chimers at midnight and an enthusiastic crowd braves the cold in the banks of Thames and its bridges to see the spectacular fireworks display and light show. There will be after-parties and on New Year’s Day if you manage to wake-up after so much of fun, you can see the colorful and extravagant parade that takes place in the Central London streets.
2/10 Hong Kong
Hong Kong has maybe one of the most most dramatic fireworks in the world during New Year’s Eve. You will see whirling circles, pyrotechnic dragon, lotus bloom in the sky and what not! Victoria Harbour is where all the fun is and the evening comes alive with party on boats, rooftop terraces, etc.
Do you know that is the first major city where New Year first arrives?! Ah, I knew you didn’t realise. So, that itself is a good reason to head to Sydney for New Year Eve. Other than that, Sydney is a vibrating city by itself, but during New Year eve it becomes altogether much more fun with largest fireworks display in the world (apparently!). There will be two fireworks, one at 9 pm and another at midnight, with Sydney Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House being the amazing backdrop.
4/10 Cape Town
When in Cape Town, you will be celebrating New Year for three days! Walk down to Victoria & Albert Waterfront for the New Year Eve Concert and midnight fireworks. Locals picnic and party on Table Mountain and enjoy all the fireworks! The Victoria Falls New Year’s Carnival and Cape Town Minstrel Carnival will keep you busy for solid three days with loads fun and entertainment!
The French have a stylish way of doing everything! The City of Light becomes a totally different world from the onset of Christmas Season and on New Year’s Eve the Eiffel Tower becomes the most spectacular sight ever with mind-blowing lightshow and fireworks display. At Champs-Élysées hosts a massive street party with loads of champagne, chocolates and kisses! If you want to avoid the crowd then go up to Montmarte, from here you will have a spectacular view of the amazing firework.
6/10 Rio de Janeiro
Nowhere anyone can welcome the New Year with so much fun and colour other than at Rio! The Copacabana Beach hosts the world’s largest and the wildest New Year’s Eve party with over a million of people will party together. For the Brazilians, New Year is not just about fun but is also a part of their religion and tradition. You will find that locals will generally dress in white to bring in good luck and toss flowers into the ocean as gift to Yemanjá, goddess of the seas. The will be a large oceanfront stages where amazing live performances can be seen.
7/10 New York
If you are at U.S. or visiting, then you must head to Times Square in Manhattan for all the fun of New Year’s Eve. You must have heard of the famous ‘ball drop’ that happens when the clock chimes midnight. The whole area is vibrating with fun, food and friends! If Times Square gets too crowded for you, than head to Grand Army Plaza for having a great place to view the amazing fireworks and have fun too in a more less crowded area.
We are celebrating this year at home with friends and family but would love to hear from you how are you celebrating this New Year and whether we have inspired you enough to choose on of the New Year destinations! Would love to hear from you 🙂
